Award: IRTG Alumna Viktoria Lühr

Prix d’Excellence du Gouvernement du Québec
 
During the annual meeting of the Association for Canadian Studies in German-speaking Countries (Gesellschaft für Kanada-Studien / GKS) in Grainau, IRTG alumna Viktoria Lühr received the Prix d'Excellence du Gouvernement du Québec for her dissertation on "Kulturelle Diversität im Spannungsfeld zwischen Globalisierung und (Re-) Nationalisierung. Eine Analyse des soziopolitischen Diskurses in Frankreich, Deutschland und Québec." Viktoria Lühr's dissertation was supervised by Professors Hans-Jürgen Lüsebrink (Universität des Saarlandes, Saarbrücken) and Reiner Marcowitz (Université de Lorraine, Metz) within the framework of a co-tutelle funded by the Franco-German University. She received the overall grade of "Summa cum laude" within the co-tutelle doctoral program completed on December 16, 2022.

The Prix d'Excellence du Gouvernement du Québec, awarded once a year for outstanding scientific theses and dissertations, was presented to Dr. Lühr by the Deléguée Générale du Québec in Germany, Ms. Elisa Valentin, on March 3, 2023. The prize carries an award of 3,000 CAD. The laureate is selected by an independent jury of German and Canadian scholars.
