RÉSUMÉ

This meeting will be a chance for Jonathan Boyarin to reflect on several facets of his decades-long engagement with Jewish social memory, ranging from the memorial books of Polish Jewry, to the politics of memory in Israel-Palestine, and to the dynamic process of social forgetting on New York City's Lower East Side. Participants will be invited to share their thoughts on other diasporic formations of memory and on the fate of "the ruins of memory" in a dynamic and disruptive sphere of global capitalism.
