GeschichteN – HiStories – HistoireS

The 39th Annual Conference of the Association of Canadian Studies in German-speaking countries has taken place from February 16 to 18, 2018 in Grainau. The conference topic was: “GeschichteN – HiStories – HistoireS”.
The following members and alumni of the IRTG Diversity have presented papers:
Christoph Laugs (Universität Trier): "(Hi)stories of a Traitor, Martyr, and Statesman: The Representation of Louis Riel in Canadian Museums and Memory Culture."
Pierre Lavoie (Université de Montréal): "Invasion, assimilation, perversion. Les discours identitaires canadiens-français sur l’américanisation culturelle au cours de l’entre-deux-guerres."
Ursula Lehmkuhl (Universität Trier): "Narrating Mobility and Belonging: Histories and Memories of a German Immigrant Family in Ontario, 1951-1956."
